June 9 and 10: LWVIL Convention, Des Plaines, Bonnie Cox is on the ballot to become the LWIL President. Bonnie Cox was elected to be
the LWVIL President at this convention.

July 18 LWV-JDC Board Meeting at 3:00 at 241 Council Fire Drive, Galena
August 17: Illinois Press Program is scheduled for 7:00 Pm at The DeSoto Hotel Ballroom. The program is held in conjunction with the Illinois Press Association and the Galena Gazette on the role of the media in the age of social media. Don Craven, Acting Director of the Illinois Press Association will be the guest presenter. The program will include the topics of open meetings and FOIA issues. Check the article in the Galena Gazette for more details.
August 18: LWV-JDC Board Meeting - Tuesday at 3:00 at 241 Council Fire Drive, Galena.
August 19: LWVIL - Membership Leadership, Development Training - held in Chicago at the State Office, 332 South Michigan Avenue. As of July, LWV-JDC needs a representative to attend.
September 28: 3:30 PM LWV-JDC Board Meeting at Sue's home
September 30: Letter Writing Session to encourage legislators to vote yes for Illinois to ratify ERA amendment - 10-11 AM at Midwest Medical Center, Galena, Upstairs - 2nd floor.
October 7 and 8: Fudge Booth, Galena Country Fair - All applications and fees are paid. Workers will be needed to recruit volunteers to work making the fudge and at the booth.Contact any board member for information about how to volunteer. October 11 & 12: State of State Event in Chicago - Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth will be speaking. Reservations are taken in advance with the cost involved at $100.00 dollars per person to attend. Registration Deadline is October 2nd. Registration can be done online.
October 19: LWV-JDC Board Meeting, 3:30 PM at Sue's home.
November 1: LWV-JDC - Annual dues collection begins.
November 16: LWV-JDC Board Meeting, 3:30 PM at Sue's home.
November 28: "Cocktails and Conversation" - 5-7 PM - 2017 Review and Program Planning for 2018 - Jeannie Norman will host at her home. Details TBA
January 27 - 36th Annual Meeting: The meeting will be at the DeSoto Hotel and will begin at 11:30 with lunch at noon. The program will be a presentation on Restorative Justice with Professor Valerie Bell at 12:45 pm.
Continued work through the year on the LWV led "Water Resource Management Plan" for Jo Daviess County and coordinated actions with the LWVIL, LWVUS, and LWV-Upper Mississippi River Region ILO.
All members are invited to attend monthly board meetings. The time and place for these meetings will be announced beforehand. Please contact the Board President Sue C if you plan to attend so seating room can be arranged.
